Appropriation Brief

I thought the idea of taking logos and brand icons and changing them quite interesting, like the work that Richard Prince does, but with more of a funny twist to them.

I took these three logos to edit, mainly because they were easiest to edit, and also because they had names and fonts that I could edit into other names, I had particular fun while doing the Adidas logo, as it has particularly cocky/chavvy connotations, and you can pretty much guess where I was going with it. FedEx was quite fun too, as I’ve been left too many times waiting for a delivery, sitting indoors getting very annoyed because it’s late, or I missed it the first time. Snapchat too was quite interesting, as I personally quite like Snapchat as an app, but never really post much in the way of selfies, I find it interesting to look at people’s lives and what they document on this app, if only for 24 hours, but at the same time, some people do document a little too much, and you end up flicking through some real ‘crap’ (like someone’s hot chocolate, why document that, mate?)
